History of the Event
10th Annual E vs H Tournament (2023)
We hit a decade of awesomeness in 2023, and the tournament started off right with a surprise speech from Virginia Tech Football Coach, Brent Pry! After Coach Pry got us riled up, Special Olympics athletes Josh Norris, Ben Norris, Roger Johnson, and Nick Filipiak reminded us just how amazing Special Olympics is as an organization. After the pomp and circumstance, Brothers and friends hit the course for a FIERCE competition! At the end of the day, Team Hexaton took home the win, and now lead the all-time series 5-4.
Golf aside, our 2023 event was our most successful to date, raising over $36,000 for Area 9! Taking home the crown as MVP for the first time was longtime tournament supporter, Mike Flynn, who squeaked out our two-time repeating champion, John Krahulec, for this year's honors!

9th Annual E vs H Tournament (2022)
The 9th Annual E vs H Tournament shall forever be known as "The Year the Records Fell". Thanks to the generosity of so many sponsors, brothers, and friends, the 2022 tournament was our best to date, both in terms of attendance as well as fundraising! We were fortunate enough to have Nick Filipiak, Roger Johnson, and Josh Norris, SOVA Area 9 athletes, represent Special Olympics in the event, as well as several SOVA partners. Team Epsilon SQUEAKED out the team win (132.5-127.5) to tie the overall series at 4-4 while our best dressed competition was taken to new heights with FIVE different groups receiving votes to be crowned the winner. It is going to be TOUGH for future events to match the 2022 tournament, but we will do our best in 2023!

8th Annual E vs H Tournament (2021)
In 2021, we were AMPED to be back in person for our tournament weekend! For the first time in tournament history, we had TWO Special Olympics Teams compete and we had over 100 attendees in Blacksburg to support this great cause! Though the competition for lowest score continued to be fierce, what was even better was seeing the number of teams that wanted to take home the title of "Best Dressed"! At the end of the competitions, though, we were able to join together to celebrate our successes as a fraternity and a community as we raised over $18,000 for Special Olympics Virginia!

Second Annual Epsilon vs. Hexaton Alumni Golf Tournament (2015)
This year's tournament, somehow, someway, outshined last year's initial attempt! With 48 golfers, a handful of non-participant Brothers, a few wives and girlfriends, and great spirits, the tournament went off without a hitch! Auburn Hills fulfilled its promise to support our Brotherhood as we raised over $2,500 for Special Olympics and an additional $600 for the Brotherhood! Several trophies were handed out at the tournament, and they were awarded as follows:

The First Annual Epsilon vs. Hexaton Alumni Golf Tournament (2014)
Saturday, June 21st, 2014, marked a day that will go down in Phi Sig history! On this day, the Epsilon Hexaton Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa hosted their FIRST ANNUAL Alumni Golf Tournament and had over 40 participants! Brothers took part in a 2v2 Captain's Choice Tournament which pitted Team Epsilon versus Team Hexaton. At the end of the most ridiculously long round of golf ever (we never said we were golfers), Team Epsilon won with a final score of 16-10.
The tournament was held at Pete Dye’s River Course (see here for information on the course) and was followed by an award ceremony and alumni banquet at the Phi Sig house on South Main Street.
The proceeds from the tournament went directly to Special Olympics of Southwest Virginia with a smaller portion going to the current chapter for renovations and expenses. When the weekend was all said and done, the Epsilon Hexaton Alumni Foundation wrote a check to Special Olympics for $3,500 and a second check to the current Chapter for nearly $400! Our hats are off to the alumni and actives who participated in the tournament and made it such a success!
After the tournament, awards were given for various accomplishments. Here is who won which prize:
