How your Sponsorship Impacts SOVA in 2024

Our Mission
We, the Brothers of the Epsilon Hexaton Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa, strive to provide opportunities for others to be successful. We believe all individuals should experience the joy of achieving a goal because we believe one success can build a foundation for a lifetime of success. When others need assistance in achieving a goal, we offer a helping hand. We then use our hands to applaud what comes next!
History of the Event
The Brothers of the Epsilon Hexaton Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa at Virginia Tech are adamant in their support of Special Olympics Virginia – Area 9 (New River Valley). This support has resulted in numerous awards for both volunteering and fundraising. As such, it was only logical that a group of Phi Sig alumni decided to start the Epsilon vs. Hexaton Tournament Benefiting Special Olympics Virginia – Area 9! The inaugural tournament took place in 2014 and, since then, has grown to over 100 participants, including SOVA athletes, SOVA volunteers, other Phi Sigma Kappa Chapters, and families and friends of the Chapter! Through the generosity of sponsors and participants, this event has raised over $145,000 for Special Olympics Virginia Area 9!
Why Support Special Olympics?
Special Olympics is an organization that provides children and adults with intellectual disabilities opportunities to develop fitness, show courage, build bonds with others in their communities, and hone skills through friendly competitions and year-round sports training. Through your support, Special Olympics athletes from Virginia have the funding needed to compete in various competitions throughout the state as well as the country!
